i spent 5 free hours from the afternoon unitl late night trying to read through this book. i was totally hooked and found it difficult to put it down. lucky that it was a public holiday yesterday, so i read it without any interruption.
i am a sucker for beautifully written romance and this is the one. one of the best books i like to read over and over again. the author wrote in a such a way that you can see the beauty of the landscape. you felt like you were there while reading it. and this book has immensely increased my particular interest in Antarctica. i was so disappointed when it came to the end. i wanted to devour it more. so this morning, i grabbed a mini notebook, read the last few chapters again and took note some new words and pharses. i've meant to get better in my english and this is the best way for me - the way that i can learn new words and at the same time enjoy the ride. i intend to do it every morning, at least half an hour a day. but reading another new book at different time is still going on. i am still going on with my reading goal and trying to finish 45 books in this year. but this, i want to set aside time to improve my english too and to savor with my newly-found fave book -- and stay longer with my beloved charactors. i can say that i am hopelessly in love with "rook" and "alice" .. the main chacractors in the book..
so for my next book-hunt, i have my purpose. i am going to look for other books of rosie thomas. i like her style of writing. beautifully described and they are not just romance. she writes her novels with so much background knowledge.. give it a try!..
